VIP (Volunteer In Partnership)

The Volunteers In Partnership (VIPs), a subcommittee of the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce, started in 2005 with just eight members looking for meaningful activities. Over the years, the group has grown significantly and now includes over 120 members. Initially, they helped with local events such as bull riding championships, rodeos, and off-road races, raising funds through activities like selling beer at events and donating the proceeds to local charities. Under the leadership of Judy Royer, who reorganized the group in 2006, the VIPs expanded their scope and increased their membership. They now actively participate in a variety of community events throughout the year, including the Connie Davis 5K Walk & Roll for Cancer, Bullhead City Boom Box Parade, local airshows, concerts at the Laughlin Event Center, chamber ribbon cuttings for new businesses, and helping with egg hunts and festivals organized by Clark County Parks & Recreation.

The VIPs are a diverse group of volunteers from Laughlin, Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, and other surrounding areas. They include both full-time residents and “snowbirds” from across the country who enjoy returning to the area when the weather cools. The group is united by a desire to meet new people, learn more about the community, and contribute positively to local events and organizations. Their fundraising efforts have enabled them to donate over $100,000 to numerous local charities, schools, and youth groups in the Colorado River Region.

From participating in dusty off-road races to supporting formal events like the Community Achievement Awards, the VIPs are dedicated to doing whatever is needed to help their community. They take great pride in their ability to give back to the area they now call home, reflecting their strong sense of belonging and commitment to the region’s growth and success. “The Volunteers in Partnership are extremely pleased to help so many organizations in the Colorado River Region. It is a wonderful feeling to know that we can give back to the area we love and now call home.” – Joyce Moreno, VIP Liaison.

LEARN MORE ABOUT VIPs

Our VIP’s do an amazing job of supporting our community events, with thousands of volunteer hours and financial donations to a variety of local charities, courtesy of local events where they volunteer and accept “tips” or other small fees.

They meet once per month, on the second Tuesday at 5:00pm NV at the various locations. They suspend meetings during June, July and August.

Our VIPs are available for community events at the discretion of the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Carrie Issac Larson, and the Chamber VIP Liaison, Joyce Moreno.
